The problem of wearing my Minnetonka Mocs to the supermarket in the snow
Since I was getting into wearing "non traditional" footwear this winter, I chose to wear these very lightweight soft-soled Minnetonka moccasins out shopping on a snowy day.
That didn't work out so well. These very snug, but otherwise comfortable mocs turned out not only to leak, but to soak up water in the soles like a chamois. And all tht water soaked into the sponge rubber insole cushion.
Not only did my feet get soaking wet, and absolutely frozen, but the orange leather dye is not waterproof and the soles of my feet turned orange. Most, but not all of the orange washed off in the shower the next morning.
Lesson learned, these are not for wear in wet weather, particularly cold, wet weather!
