Nike Wrestling shoes, insoles now powder, like walking at the beach

Now, I've never wrestled in my life, but I've always liked heelless shoes, (alternating with higher heeled shoes) and back in the 1980's I got turned on to wrestling shoes by a friend who wore them all the time. He let me borrow a pair for a while, they were way too big, but I went and got my first pair, the white Nikes that now have almost no sole left. In fact I wore them until most of the sole had worn through, the final winter with the soles of an old pair of flip flops covering the sole holes. Anyway, I got a pair of Asics to replace them, and then when a sneaker store went bottom up in the late 1990's and was selling shoes for $5 to $10 a pair, I bought several more pair. This is one pair from that group.

Most of the sneakers I bought then have come apart, the rubber failing. The innersoles in these have turned to lumpy dust and the soles are becoming hard and cracking. I wore them for a day with the dusty remains of the innersoles between my toes, rather like walking on a sandy beach. But then I dumped the dust out, as it was beginning to spill on my carpets. I still wear the sneakers, though.
