No toes?
In my continued effort to reduce my footprint on this planet, I amputated my toes... No, just squeezed them into another size smaller shoe. They are there, doubled up where you can't see them.
Last summer, I succeeded in getting my size 7 - 7 1/2 feet into a pair of Walmart's size Y13 sneakers and wearing them regularly. They became pretty comfortable once some of the seams ripped out, making them into quasi sandals. I'm still often wearing them.
So when I was by Walmart recently I saw they had these "Nerf" brand closed-toe sandals and decided to try a size smaller, Y12. At worst I figured I could perform surgery on them to make them wearable.
However, as soon as I pulled out the innersoles, I found I could pretty easily squeeze my feet into them and wear them out and around. I did take some Velcro to lengthen the strap to keep the heels from slipping off.
I can wear them now for over an hour, and I think with time they will get like last year's 13's, so I can wear them all day.
Who knows, next year size Y11?
