Frederick J. Loudin

Welcome to #LisaDurden’s #BlackHistoryMonthMoment; Frederick J. Loudin, born January 1, 1836, invented the key chain in 1894, because in the 1800's people would easily lose their keys. He was also a teacher, singer, choir director, impresario, inventor entrepreneur, boot and shoe manufacturer, whose company employed a staff of nearly 70 men; a revolutionary act for a black man in the 1890’s. #ClapForThat! #FrederickJLoudin passed away on 11/3/1904.
