Minneapolis - Gold Medal Park
During a walkabout in downtown Minneapolis, I discovered Gold Medal Park. The park included several sculptures. The park opened in 2007.
This the Prophecy of the Ancients by Brower Hatcher. In the stone and steel-mesh sculpture, a futuristic dome, made of thousands of wire polyhedrons, rests atop Egyptian columns. The most interesting part is the assortment of objects, including a chair, a turtle, numbers and letters that hover within the dome. They seem to form a rainbow or arc.
