Cosmos

While taking a few pictures of my cosmos still blooming in the garden, I noticed a stem bearing a dozen of cosmos, whose center was very different from the other cosmos. I had never seen any cosmos blooming with such a center... has this cosmos mutated for any reason? Why this one precisely and not the others in the same bed of flowers? I found this very strange...
