New Lifeboat Station - January 2017 -

The NEW Lifeboat House and slip way cost £9.5m to build, and will house the NEW lifeboat 'ROY BARKER' which cost £2.7million paid for by the Roy Barker Memorial Fund. It was set up after Frederick Roy Barker, of Jersey, bequeathed his estate to the RNLI in 1992.The Mumbles Tamar has the latest technology to improve its lifesaving capabilities and is bigger and faster and has a speed of 28mph ( 24knots ).
