Egypt Railways - Egyptian State Railways 0-6-0ST steam locomotive Nr. 517 (Franco-Belge 1291 / 1905)
An undated photo, presumably taken at Cairo station, of Egyptian State Railways steam locomotive Nr. 517 shunting a train made of both freight and passenger stock
The leading six-wheel coach is an 1889 Oldbury first or 1st-2nd composite. These were later converted to 1st-2nd composite and second, respectively, with no major external changes
The second four-wheel car is an animal truck, from a large series produced, probably locally, between 1891-1908
The third four-wheel freight car is a vegetables and perishables van
The fourth four-wheel car appears to be a postal van
The white bogie coach is a CIWL dining car, of the type built in several batches between 1899 and 1905
Finally, the top of a clerestory passenger coach is barely visible, trailing right behind the Wagons Lits coach
