Ceylon Railways - Ceylon Government Railways Class B6 4-6-0 steam locomotives and freight train emerging from a tunnel (Kitson & Vulcan Foundry, 1882 & 1890)

Two Ceylon Government Railways Class B6 steam locomotives double-head a freight train out of a tunnel, in a pre-WWI photo. Fourteen of these 4-6-0s were delivered to Ceylon by Kitson in 1882 (K 2494-503) and again by Vulcan Foundry in 1890 (VF 1294-97). They became CGR Nrs. 49-58 & 59-62. Note the distinctive tenders, having the unusual arrangement of a leading fixed axle and a trailing two-axle bogie
