Light before the Storm
Cleveland Pier the first of the three piers visited whilst coming to grips with Filters! I am not that happy with the composition and the dark sky on the left is not vignetting but full rain clouds which happily released their bounty within minutes of this image being shot!!
Cleveland pier was built in 1869 and served as an embarkation point for paddle steamer excursions. Allegedly Sir John Betjeman described it as "the most beautiful pier in England" And in 1999 it was awarded the 'Pier of the Year' from the National Piers Society and a Civic Trust Award. (further increasing my belief that I know nothing about piers!!!)
Ps - the colour of the 'sea' just in case you are wondering is because the pier stands not in the sea but in the east shore of the Severn Estuary.
Happy Clicking flickr friends ----- This Landscape photography with Filters malarky is not as easy as it looks!!! ...... watch this space and thank you to all those landscape photographers who have unwittingly inspired me to get out there and give it a go ------ I need a lot more goooooo's!!!
