Gimme Shelter

. . . from the wind, which has been relentless around here. It's been unseasonably cold too. Wah.

Nevertheless, this was taken from the comfortable shelter of a nook in the rock face that forms the edge of this part of the eastern shore of Jamestown, just north of the Claiborne Pell (a.k.a. Newport) Bridge, facing Newport on the other side of Narragansett Bay.

Taken with a Nikon Z6 converted to 590nm IR, and a 15-stop ND (which behaves more like a 13-stop ND with this filter/sensor combo). Had to fiddle a bit in Photoshop with channel mixer, hue/saturation, and photo filter adjustment layers to achieve the desired effect, all of which were new to me. This project's got a hardware and software learning curve.

Though I'm a very technical person, I'm finding Photoshop to be a bit overwhelming. That there's a bazillion tutorials online is at once helpful and not. Feel free to chime in with your recommendations!
