Grand Anse (Large Cove)
Just got back from a wonderful vacation in Grenada. Though I brought a good amount of camera equipment, for a variety of reasons I took relatively few "serious" pictures; turns out I mostly needed a mental rest.
Grenada is a lush, vibrant, and friendly island, largely unspoiled by tourism (in my opinion), particularly American tourism. In fact the few locals I met that were old enough to remember the American-led 1983 invasion (in response to a coup and subsequent execution of then leader Maurice Bishop, and at the request of Caribbean neighbors and Grenada's Governor-General) indicated a general fondness and gratitude towards America for its effort. I suspect these feelings would not exist had we overstayed our welcome and made a mess of the place, as we're unfortunately wont to do.
Taken on the northern end of Grand Anse Beach, near the capital of St. George's in the Parish of Saint George, with the nifty manual focus 50mm Nikkor f/1.2 ai-s and the Singh-Ray LB ColorCombo warming polarizer/color intensifier.
This was actually the last picture I took, on our last walk on the beach on our last day in Grenada.
