South Watuppa Pond
Fall River, Massachusetts
As discussed in my previous post, the Watuppa Ponds are two large, naturally occurring, spring-fed, glacially formed ponds located in Fall River and Westport, Massachusetts. Watuppa is a native word meaning "place of boats" (ref. Wikipedia). Unlike the north pond, where boats are actually prohibited (as it's the City of Fall River's primary drinking water supply), boats and general recreation are allowed on the south pond. Luckily no boats on this day.
