Downtown Boston from Fan Pier Park

There are many, many excellent variations on this theme on Flickr and elsewhere. Following Greg DuBois's superb example, I decided on a B&W long exposure. (Greg has some amazing shots of Boston and its surroundings. Check him out!) One thing I like about Greg's shot over mine is the way he was able to eliminate barrel distortion through composition, even at 16 mm! I couldn't quite figure that out. And I know I'm not supposed to use f/22, but that chain was so close!

Filters: Landscape polarizer, 1-stop soft-edge GND, 10-stop ND.

Tidbits: Directly behind me is the Moakley Federal Courthouse, headquarters for the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and venue for some recent high profile trials, including that of mobster James "Whitey" Bulger, and surviving Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
