Jetty adjacent to the Old Scituate Light

This was my first attempt at stacking my 6 and 10 stop ND filters (for the purpose of squeezing as much out of the cloud movement as possible). I ended up underexposing the image by almost 2 stops. I'm not sure if it was a metering issue or filter calibration issue (or a combination of both), but the lowlights weren't clipped and the image was recoverable. Amazing. A result of shooting in 14-bit raw? I could have tried again, but at several minutes per exposure that's a long time to wait for an experiment, particularly when it's windy as hell and butt cold!
Not shown here but set up just to my right is Jonathan Elcock, who picked out some great spots on the South Shore for us to shoot some long exposures. I met Jon through Flickr after admiring his exceptional photostream. He's a talented photographer and a patient teacher. Check him out!
Composition: I waffled between color and B&W. The ocean was a beautiful sea-foam green, but there were some odd colors in the rocks that to me made them resemble kibble (perhaps due to the polarizer I was using). I also thought it looked a little more dramatic in B&W. Perhaps Jon will post a color version and we can have a bake-off!
Filters: LEE Big Stopper (10-stop ND), LEE Little Stopper (6-stop ND), LEE landscape polarizer
