Albuquerque Sign Language Academy Beam Signing Ceremony

The Albuquerque Sign Language Academy (ASLA) celebrated a key milestone in the construction of its new campus with a Beam Signing Ceremony on April 16, 2025.

The event took place at the future site of the school, located at the intersection of Tyler Road and Edith Boulevard NE, north of Osuna Road.

The ceremony marked an important step forward for ASLA and the community it serves.

The new campus is being built on Bernalillo County-owned property and reflects a shared investment in inclusive education.

Since opening in 2010, ASLA has more than doubled its enrollment and continues to maintain a waitlist, highlighting the demand for its unique dual-language model that serves deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing students across the greater Albuquerque area.
