Montreal Fireworks Competition - Canadian Entry

Canadian fireworks explode over the Jacques Cartier Bridge from la Ronde Six Flags during the Montreal International Fireworks Competition/Festival. Another picture of fireworks over the pont Jacques-Cartier Bridge... I'll say it gives foreground context but way more importantly, I was waaaay too lazy this year to walk past the bridge. Shot about 500ft from my front door with my little Nikon D5100 and a Tamron 18-270 PZD VC lens.

Bit of camera shake - no idea how - I think I was using an IR remote and the camera was on a tripod. Vehicular traffic was suspended. Perhaps it was the mirror-slap. Really have to "pixel peep" to see the problem so don't...

This was close to the finale and the colors were stunning in real life. I did a lot (perhaps too much) post processing to make it look more like what I remember - at least I hope. Since I'm colorblind, I have no idea if this is waay past reasonable so let me know so I can dial it down in the future. We colorblind need to learn too so help me out!

Pretty impressed with the dynamic range of the older but still so awesome 16MP D5100 - can't believe how highlights I was able to recover. A wide open, half second exposure into bright fireworks at ISO400 and not a single, irreparably blown highlight. Shot another country's entry with my D7100, I wonder how that compares once I get around to developing a frame...
