Eastern Veil Nebula

The Veil Nebula is such a prominent and colorful target that it is easy to end up pursuing it with different equipment configurations. This version took far less time and effort than my first attempt 3 years ago, which required multiple nights of broad and narrowband imaging to create a mosaic out of smaller sections, see www.flickr.com/photos/124244349@N07/19888116153/in/datepo....

Tech Stuff: Borg 71FL at native 400mm focal length; IDAS LPS-V4 filter; Baader MPCC; ZWO ASI1600MC; 81 minutes of 12 second exposures stacked live in SharpCap Pro; iOptron CubePro 8200 mount guided with PHD; Processed with PixInsight. Imaged from my yard 10 miles north of New York City.
