WC Alco's

August 27, 1993 was a tough pill to swallow as WC had taken over the Itel roads in WI. The all Alco GB&W and the FRVR with it's neat roster of EMD's were folded into the WC. The EMD's of FRVR had a place on WC but the Alco's had a very limited future as most if not all were in storage within a few weeks. A few were recalled into service in early 1994 as we suffered through a tough winter and WC's business was booming but they didn't last long working on the WC. I'd made the trip to Wisconsin Rapids a few days before the end to get my last fix of real GB&W action. Arranging to be off work a few extra days I stayed around until the end. The 321 went to work at the Rapids switching and it was the first actual movement I seen after the WC takeover. A couple other C424's, a C420 and an RS27 sit on the roundhouse lead while 321 does its yard work.
