Awaiting the Chief
SOO 2408 and 4431 wait at the downtown yard in St. Ignace for the Chief to return from Mackinaw City.The old depot/freight house to the left still stands and is a restaurant now with a lot of railroad artifacts and photos. If you look close you can spot the cement slab under the two BN boxes where the engine house used to be and also the turntable to the right and behind the last BN box. April 2, 1981, a rescan.
