Aftermath
After the July 12, 1982 head on between trains 909 and 910 the wrecked units were moved to the siding at Gilchrist. 6601 was trailing 4408 on 909 that fateful day and escaped the carnage fairly well with just some bent up handrails and slight damage. 6600 which was the leader on 910 and submarined under 4408 rests in the distance.
