A lot of 1st Generation Power
I randomly bumped into this job as I was following the CNW south of Albert Lea heading towards Manly to check out the Rock Island back on August 23, 1978. A little later I encountered a Rock Island freight heading for the Twin Cities. Manly turned out to be a bit of a disappointment with nothing to shoot but sights like this made the drive down from Waseca not a compete waste of time on a hot late summer day. The thing that really caught my eye on this one was the good looking gal that must have been the young engineers wife or girlfriend that was sitting up on the control stand as they rolled by. CNW 4515, 313, 4345, 1751, 4384 and 4342 are heading south/east with 59 cars near Gordonville, Iowa.
