Fenella heads a mixed.

In 2008 it was still possible to recreate a “mixed” train, with the wagons attached to the rear of a passenger train. This was the way the Isle of Man Railway dealt with freight traffic. The only exceptions appear to have been workings from Foxdale quarry and the occasional cattle train.

Recent times have seen H & S ban such operations and to enable the restored wagons to appear in action, they have been piped through and are now marshaled behind the loco so the passenger vehicles can provide braking in case of a run away.

Fenella provides the power and is seen passing the farm at Ballakalghen.
