Gob y Degin
The Ramsey line on the Isle of Man sadly closed on 7th September 1968, depriving photographers of classic views on the coastal stretch and the two impressive viaducts. A couple of months prior to closure No 11 Maitland makes careful progress at Gob y Deigan with the thrice weekly service on June 17th 1968.
Prior to closure of the Ramsey and Peel lines, Gob y Deigan was probably the Island's premier photo position, sadly now a cycle way. We have to thank a gentleman in a rather fine blue Bentley who seemed to have better knowledge of the island than a couple of teenagers in a hired mini for parking at the spot ! Not sure Mr Peters was amused as we even managed to feature in his 16mm cine film.
