The history of the neighborhood of La Boca ( Buenos Aires ) begins with the arrival of the first advanced Don Pedro de Mendoza in 1536, who would have established a strong first in this swampy area, populated with willows and grasses. That settlement was abandoned after a few years and when Don Juan de Garay founded the city for the second time in 1580, the port was established here. For a long time, La Boca (which owes its name to the entry of Riachuelo) was a populous suburb ranches and grocery stores. A mid-nineteenth century began to increase the movement of ships, which came a maritime district around the port. Many immigrants chose this place to settle, before the employment opportunities existed there. They built their houses of wood and metal.
