Butterfly photos

I believe a lot in hope. For me, the word "hope" has always stood for, "hold on, pain ends". A lot of the photographs I create are dark, or in some ways hold a negative conceptual meaning. That's why a butterfly is a reoccurring subject in my photographs. Butterflies, to me, and a lot of others, symbolize hope. They symbolize the idea that there's a way out of whatever difficult situation you're going through. I put them in my photographs to say, "even though this may be a dark picture of idea I'm trying to get across, there is always hope." I like doing this, because it's not false to me, it's an idea, a kind of mantra for me that I live my life by. It sounds cliche, but even in the darkest places, there is a way to get out, something to look forward to.
