Florence from the Duomo

Florence's cathedral stands tall over the city with its magnificent Renaissance dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, I climbed the 414 steps to the top of Giotto’s Campanile, the bell tower of the Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore. The climb takes you up a winding narrow stone passageway that is the only access to the top of the tower. It can be pretty tight at times as people are trying to slip past each other as they climb or descend the narrow steps. Once at the top the view is breathtaking.
