Please Don't Hurt Me
At least that's what it looks like he's saying. I have never seen a bird do this before. He flew in and lit in the mulch around some shrubs and then flattened out with his wings and tail spread out like you see him in these photos. I thought maybe he was injured, but when I tried to get closer, he flew off like he was healthy. My other thought was that he was wet and needed to dry out. Actually I have no clue. Anyone have an explanation. It looks like a young Tufted Titmouse and the series actually starts with the bottom photo in the comments section and ends with this one. View Large and On Black
