Two lodges at the Northern entrances of Alexandra Park were designed by Alfred Darbyshire as homes for the park superintendent and the deputy park keeper. Only this one, Chorlton Lodge, now survives. The park opened in 1870. On a dark and stormy night it must be very atmospheric. Very Addams family!
