For the last few years I have had a Mourning Dove nesting in a Japanese Maple that grows on my patio. I published an image of her nest and eggs a few days ago and today I managed to sneak up and capture this image. I tried getting a little closer once and she flew. She would not let me get close so this is taken through the ironwork on the deck. While I was there her mate was in a nearby tree singing his warning song quite loudly and I was enjoying the music. I hope to see chicks soon.
