Thailand’s Alternative Energy Development Plan (2012-2021) targets 25 per cent renewables in total energy consumption by 2021.
The Promoting Renewable Energy in Mae Hong Son Province project aims to support the national policy in promoting Renewable Energy (RE) by overcoming the barriers that currently prevent widespread and sustainable utilisation of renewable energy technologies for the provision of energy services in rural areas of Thailand.
The project operates initially in Mae Hong Son province, facilitating an integrated RE planning process at provincial and local levels, in order to translate targets set at the national level to the local level, and into real action. Photo: Shutterstock
