Valley of the Gods
This was a special morning. After arriving at this location the afternoon prior and gawking over this view from the moraine, I was really hopeful that the sunrise would work out. Knowing that the sun could light up the sky from behind these dramatic peaks, and the fact that this river produced the most incredible sweeping motion into the scene, capturing an image here was a priority. Waking up extra early to a mostly overcast sky, I wasn’t really sure that my wish was going to come true, but I was certainly going to set up in case it did. As time passed, I started losing hope that the sky would turn until an ever-so-slight hint of pink started to appear above Thor. Not long later, the sky exploded with reds, even lighting up the river with incredible pink light. I must have held down the shutter for 30 minutes, and I’m glad I did!
