I’m still a sucker for Green and Purple. I remember shooting a similar scene last year, and this year I went hunting for something similar when I thought the flowers would be blooming and the ferns would be the right size. Unfortunately for me, I was maybe a week or so late, and the ferns were way bigger than I wanted them to be - just creating a sea of green where these flowers were the year prior. After a bit of searching I was able to find a few spots where the purple just creeped through, revealing just a bit of colour below the orderly and regular patterns of the ferns. In the end, I liked the way the ferns almost revealed a secret below to those who looked - an entirely different environment under the fern canopy.
