Transitions
Every year I aim to take a larger photography trip, often with a significant backcountry element. This year, I aimed to visit a place I’d neve been before - Baffin Island in Nunavut. It was my first time to the territory, and to say it didn’t go according to plan would be an understatement! My trip was cut significantly short due to weather, but I did manage to capture a few images in my short visit.
This scene was kind of a weird one. It highlighted some of the diversity of elements in the park - glacial lakes, waterfalls, sand dunes, and boulder fields. Walking through this scene, I was immediately drawn to the ripples and flow in the sand, around the boulders and on to the waterfall. Shortly after this, a Canada goose walked through the scene and ruined the ripples. It was nice while it lasted!
