Forest Medusa
While I love the forest, it hasn’t always loved me back as a photographer. I’ve always found shooting in the forest - especially near where I live - notoriously difficult. Scenes can be pretty messy, interesting subjects can be challenging to find in new growth, and a lot of the more interesting scenes seem to be far away from home. That’s not exactly a recipe for success.
That’s really a shame because there’s a lot of forest in Ontario and I’m probably missing out by not shooting it often. So I’m getting working on it, and as I do, I hope you’ll see some more green in this feed for a while. As a first start, this was a scene that I happened to pass by while out for a run - found completely by chance. Looking into the forest I certainly got the impression that there were options in the area and made a mental note to come back - and I’m certainly glad I did. Turning up early in the morning, and after a quick wander, I came across this little scene. Here’s hoping I can find a few more like this one within running distance from home!
