Eye of the Sister
Honestly, I’ve been pretty fortunate to head out to Alberta with my friend Scott twice now. He has this really unique skill called “planning” (I should really look into that). I’ve been the beneficiary of Scott’s planning a few times now, and this year he had a couple ideas in mind - this being one of them. Once again, turning up in the right place at the right time, and with a hint of luck, something pretty special becomes visible. Scott had timed out when the moon would crest the sisters right before dawn, creating a pretty unique opportunity for photography
Now, one of the key things we couldn’t control was the weather. Unfortunately, there hadn’t been a ton of snow which meant there wouldn’t be a ton of ice either. There were two spots where the ice was really quite pretty - one for Scott and one for me. I chose this one because I can’t do the splits. Scott, on the other hand, did his best Jean Claude Van Damme impression to capture his scene. Regardless, there’s always something neat about seeing the moon reflect in flowing water and ice. Neat!
Thanks for peaking!
