On the Edge

I know I know, it's a bit of a cliche. But to be honest, a big part of my joy in visiting places like Tombstone is the journey - the triumphs and the failures. For context, we did not come up here for the photo - this was part of our hike from one campsite to the next. We had just climbed up to this pass (coming from camera right) and were about to descend (camera left) toward our next stop where we'd camp for the night. It was a rainy and exhausting hike up the hill followed by a (very) steep scree slope. Taking a breather at the top, I decided to remember that moment, looking back on how far we'd come (we started hiking maybe 12km camera forward - at the bottom of the valley the day before). This is one of those views that hold a bit of extra meaning for me as it's a reminder of the effort that goes into some of these trips. It can be tough, but considering I've been back 3 times already, I guess I can't say it's that tough.

Taken with a Canon 5DIV and a 16-35 f/4L. Processed in camera raw and photoshop.
