American goldfinch female at Cardinal Marsh IA 116A3936

I'm taking a break from showing shorebirds tonight, but I'm sure there will be more shorebird photos before their migration season is done😉. I was actually at Cardinal Marsh today and did photograph more shorebirds, although there was nothing new. Shorebirds come and go on a mudflat by the hour and there's always a chance that a rare shorebird could show up. That's what I was hoping for and even though I had to settle for seeing our common migrants, it was still a fun time out in the marsh. In fact, this female American goldfinch was out there taking a shower in the rain!
