Tonight I'm showing more photos from yesterday's trip to the Mississippi River. You may recall that most of the river backwaters are frozen over now, concentrating the remaining tundra swans into small feeding areas. This led to numerous food fights as the tundra swans are very protective of their favorite feeding spots and intruders were met with painful wing blows and beak bites if they trespassed into another swan family's territory.
