ruby-throated hummingbird at Lake Meyer Park IA 116A3581

I was surprised to see this ruby-throated hummingbird today since they are usually all gone by mid-September. I have found a few procrastinators over the years that have stayed around until early October so it will be interesting to see how long this hummer holds out before flying south. It's always a good idea to keep your hummingbird feeders out and filled until mid-October here in the Driftless Region to help out any late-migrating hummingbirds.
