orange sulphur (Colias eurytheme) male on eastern purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) at Cardinal Marsh IA 653A9117

Boy, I sure wish it was summer again and the butterflies were flitting about on all the blooming wildflowers. This photo from last August at Cardinal Marsh will have to suffice. This orange sulphur butterfly is sharing the purple coneflower's nectar with a goldenrod soldier beetle that evidently forgot what a goldenrod flower looks like.
