clay-colored sparrow near Lime Springs IA 653A8637

Here's another clay-colored sparrow, a rare sparrow species that I photographed a few days ago at Lake Meyer Park and found here on our family's home farm where they nest during the summer. This is one of the few places they are known to nest in Iowa since they normally nest from northern Minnesota into central Canada. This procrastinating individual should be leaving any day now for northern Mexico where it is much warmer in the winter.
