The Qa'Tari are a species of alien incorporated into the Hive around 1000 years ago. Qa'tari breed irregularly and and need to consume blood before giving birth, meaning that it's unusual for them to have children. That being said they are extremely proficient warriors, so they are highly valued by the Hive. For armament they carry ancient weapons that form a toroidal energy beam. Controlled by the users mind, they can be used as a weapon, a shield, etc. They have also been known to use their proboscis as a weapon, although usually with the intention of consuming their victim.
