WILD 'N WINTERY
Revisiting a gal and outfit I got quite a long time ago but never really photographed on her own…. So it was time she got her due! My pale blonde side-glancing Living Barbie from 1970. She came from her original owner who got her as a present back in Christmas 1970, played with her once and then packed her away for decades…. Hence, she is pretty much unplayed-with and best of all, the owner let me have her and her minty Live Action Ken, both with their complete and mint outfits, for about $20 AUD each! (About $14 USD). Around the same time, I finally nabbed an outfit I have wanted ever since I started collecting: - The funky ‘Wild ‘N’ Wintery’ from 1971. I had already photographed it years ago when I first got it, on my Barbie with Growin’ Pretty Hair, (who wore it in her TV ad,) but I thought it matched this gal’s personality a little better. The wonderful old-school detailing was still there, even with pink stockings hidden underneath those wild thigh-high ‘crocodile’ boots, (Love the matching white ‘croc’ belt!) She’s exploring my backyard on a crisp Autumn day.
