André Le Nôtre (Paris, 12 mars 1613 - 15 septembre 1700) fut jardinier du roi Louis XIV de 1645 à 1700 et eut notamment pour tâche de concevoir l'aménagement du parc et des jardins du château de Versailles, mais aussi celui de Vaux-le-Vicomte et Chantilly. Il était un très fameux courtisan et réussit à se lier d'amitié avec Louis XIV. Il était l'auteur des plans de nombreux jardins à la française.
André Le Nôtre (Paris, 12 March 1613 - 15 September 1700) was the gardener to King Louis XIV from 1645 to 1700 and was responsible for the design of the park and gardens of the Château de Versailles, but also of Vaux-le-Vicomte and Chantilly. He was a very famous courtier and managed to befriend Louis XIV. He was the author of the plans for many French gardens.
