Denali National Park contains Mt. McKinley, highest mountain peak in North America at 20, 320 ft. It is in the center of the Alaskan Range which arcs across central Alaska. Mt. McKinley has a higher rise (foot plateau to peak) than Mt. Everest, even though Mt. Everest is almost 9,000 ft higher at its peak. At 6 million acres, Denali N.P. is larger in area than the states of Delaware, Rhode Island, and Connecticut combined.
