Mayfly

This beautiful insect flitted into our garden late on a warm, sunny, spring afternoon. The colouration — particularly the dash of yellow at the base of the wings — resembles that of the "Kakahi Queen" trout fly, one of New Zealand's most famous (and one of the best!) mayfly imitations.
