The Three Fishermen

Hobbiton is one of the cooler locations I've ever been able to photograph. The movie set was made twice, the second time more permanently to be turned into a tourist attraction. The infamous Bag End and Baggins' home is at the very top of the photo with a faux oak tree growing out of the ground. It had to be an oak tree, as detailed in Tolkien's books, but since that particular species doesn't grow in New Zealand where the set was made on a sheep farm they had to create their own. I really liked the three little Hobbit holes by the water, here, and I could imagine three fishermen living there. That MASSIVE indigenous tree to the right did a lot to further the effect of smaller Hobbits living here. © 2012-Current.
