Classic Space Buggy - FebRovery 2017 - 6-wide - Lego
This is something I've been wanting to do for ages. Build a dune buggy for FebRovery. And finally, I've done it...
...and there's a but, only a small one. Normally, I would have done far more renders, the usual blend of BlueRender and POV-Ray to bring you a juiciest renders I can manage, from 7+ angles. However, we have an issue. Unless my editing has done the job, you may have noticed there's something a little off with the front. This is because that piece on the front, a brilliant a piece and one of my favourite parts of the model, doesn't render properly on POV-Ray. The left stud (as we're looking at it) becomes inverted, and neither of the holes are there. Which is a big issue. I thought I was saved when I noticed there are two versions of the piece (like what happened with the Quattro) but they both do the same thing. So the issue is either I do just Blue render for the rest of the picture, or edit each one, which may make it look a little shoddy. What do you guys want to see? Can you put up with Bluerenders?
Enough ranting, on with the model! As I said, I've always wanted to do a proper buggy for FebRovery. I think it's a perfect marriage of my usual car stuff and Classic Space, and it would be fit for any ET terrain. Pleased with how this one turned out! Been awhile since I visited a 4-wide sort of scale, and I've attempted 4-wide buggies a few times before. It's been longer still since I've made something to fit a minifig (you have to go back to my mediocre real 6-wides on MOCpages). and first time I've done something classic space. I adore the classic space theme great charm and actually real nice colours, certainly for building. Hope I captured it well in this buggy, and I hope it's spacey enough!
Planning on doing something Black Tron too for LUGNuts, thinking maybe some sort of off-road hot rod.
