Mission 15.3: Punitive Strike on Trandosha

DESIGNATION: CT-1807

NICKNAME: Scout

RANK: ARC Commander grade I

UNIT: 1st Recon Detachment, 3rd Regiment of the 253rd Elite Legion

"Six rockets burst from the trees behind me and roared towards the formation of three MSP80 Pteropter craft that were quickly approaching our positions along the cliffside. We had spent the last five standard hours ascending the sheer cliff that made up the northern side of the Trandoshan's mountain fortress. The rockets neared their targets their pink contrails beginning to fade, in a panic the three Trandoshan craft broke formation and attempted to avoid the oncoming projectiles, a futile attempt for the missiles had successfully locked onto their targets, which exploded in brilliant flashes of light their remains plummeting downwards into the jungle canopy kilometers below us. During the Trandoshans aerial assault the rest of the Detachment had abandoned their ropes and had used their jetpacks to quickly climb what few meters were between them and the top of the cliff. Now all seven squads of the First Recon Detachment of the Two Hundred Fifty Third Legion's Third Regiment stood in the clearing along the cliffside. Each squad consisted of nine troopers the yellow and grey markings on their armor designating their specialties, the troopers loading fresh rockets into their Plx-1 launchers belong to Squad Zeta, the detachments heavy weapons and demolitions specialists. They had saved the detachment four times in the last four hours by singlehandedly destroying a total of eight Trandoshan Pteropters. A kilometer north loomed our objective the ancient ruins of a Sith temple the spot where the Trandoshans had allegedly summoned an ancient Sith… I hate force users. The terrain between us and the temple was mostly barren with patches of shrubbery, small trees and rock outcrops providing the only concealment for our advance, our best bet was to hit them hard and fast. Vaulting undergrowth and weaving between rocks, I lead my men in a mad dash for the temples crumbling walls. We were close... a meer hundred meters from the wall, when the overgrown battlements erupted into a brilliant storm of red blaster bolts. Nine troopers in the lead squads were cut down instantly, their armor torn to pieces by the sheer volume of fire that had engulfed us. Screaming for my men to take cover I threw myself behind a rock and turned to watch the carnage unfold. Another six troopers fell victim to the Trandoshan's fire while the rest disengaged and found cover behind rocks, small trees, shrubs and the bodies of the fallen. A tree which two troopers sheltered behind was cut in half by a concentrated volley of blaster fire, the two troopers were eviscerated by the red plasma. If we stayed here any longer the Detachment would be destroyed, tearing my gaze away from my dyeing men I peered out from behind my cover and searched for a blind spot in the Trandoshan's kill zone. As soon as I Identified one in the shadow of a crumbling tower I burst from cover without any hesitation using my jetpack to launch myself parallel to the ground towards the wall moving to fast for the Trandoshans to hit. The distance closed rapidly, I barely managed to rotate my thrusters in time to slow my approach enough that my legs wouldn't disintegrate from the impact the wall. Kicking upwards I virtually ran up the wall as sped upwards I pulled two thermal detonators from my belt and primed each. Five seconds... four... three... two... one.. suddenly the all ended and I was staring into the surprised faces of a squad of Trandoshans, I nailed the closest one in the nose with the first thermal detonator the impact knocking him down and tossed the second one towards a pile of crates, containing what I assumed to be blaster batteries. Gunning it I accelerated upwards before the Trandoshans could react, below me the entire top of the wall erupted into a massive fireball, turns out I was right about the crates. Knowing Lucky, my second in command would organize what remained of the Detachment I took off towards the temple scanning the courtyards for my prey. There he was just outside the eastern gate butchering a squad of clones, I took up a position on top of a ruined tower and zeroed in on the massive beast below. The Trandoshan was larger than most clad in several pelts and black armor, in one hand he held a crimson lightsaber and in the other a struggling clone trooper. With my target centered in my crosshairs I held my breath a slowly squeezed the trigger of my DC-15x sniper rifle. The blue bolt left the barrel of my weapon with a soft thump an raced towards its target hitting the lizard in the neck just below the head, a miss, but a killing blow none the less... the only problem being he didn't die or appear phased by the blast at all. Dropping the clone he turned and stared right at me, cursing I took to the air barely dodging the crimson blade which exploded through the tower behind me. Normally a shot like that would have taken any other creatures head from it's shoulders, but it hadn't, kriffing Sith. I had one option left, but I would have to get close, soaring downwards I rapidly closed the gap between me and the hulking Trandoshan, once I was sure the distance between us would make missing impossible I began to overcharge my rifle, pouring every ounce of energy from the blaster's battery into one round and fired. The force of the blast immediately melted the barrel of my rifle and knocked me from the sky I hit the ground hard, but alive. Rolling over I tossed my now useless rifle away and drew my pistol ready to engage this beast if it had not died from my pervious attack. On the ground in front of me lay the Trandoshans hulking form a neat smoking half circle took up most of it's upper body the lizards head was gone, evaporated along with most of his torso...

Keying my commlink I gave the all clear, target eliminated."

END LOG

Wow that was a mouthful, believe it or not I had a longer one, but my computer decided to spare you guys from it and deleted it twice...

It's good to be building again, I've been busy with work and putting together 40k miniatures, but I'm hoping to make more time for lego again because man this build and log were a ton of fun!

Also first time using my new camera, still haven't figured it out quite yet and not gonna lie kind of like my old one more, don't get me wrong the photo is amazing, it's just a little bright and AI couldn't figure out for the life of me how to tone it down.

Welp here's a cookie for all those who made it this far and read everything, you guys deserve a medal.

As always thanks for viewing and have a good one!
